Kantha Kent Vermillion by Windham
Originating in South Asia, Kantha is one of the oldest styles of embroidery. Originally, the cloths were made by layering pieces of fabric used to make saris. Then, a simple running stitch is used to hold the layers together. Traditionally, Kanthas are handmade by women to give as gifts. You can use our unique Kantha fabric for a variety of projects: quilts, bags, table toppers, pillow covers, jackets and even upholstery! Save the scraps and use them as patches for jackets and jeans. The possibilities are endless! Kantha will be sold in 8 yd bolts and is 42 inches wide.
