You may register for classes at the store, or
by phone, 262-554-8708. Payment must be made no later than one week prior to the class.
Most classes have a student limit; classes will be filled on a first paid basis.

Supply lists should be picked up at the store.
We will be happy to assist you in gathering all the necessary materials for your class.

You must cancel at least one week in advance to receive a refund in the form of a store credit. No credit for no-shows.




Classes


Beginner Classes

This is a hands-on lecture/demonstration class. Let's take the fear and mystery out of how to install a zipper in a project. Participants will sew 3 different zipper applications. Other topics will include: how to apply ribbing to a neckline, hemming and how to apply elastic in a waistband.

We will continue to increase our sewing skills. This class is a lecture/demonstration and hands-on. You will need your sewing machine (please make sure it is in good working order) and instruction book for your machine. We will work on creating samples for the following: Buttonholes (buttonhole foot) Blind hem (blind hem foot) Notched turtleneck collar Lettuce edge neck application

Are you: New to sewing? Have you: Sewn in the past and now have a renewed interest in sewing? Do you: Have a new machine or a machine you haven't used for some time? Participants will become familiar with the mechanics of the sewing machine. You will cut out and construct two projects: a pillowcase and a scissor caddy. If time permits, a pincushion will also be constructed. Supplies for pin cushion will be provided.

Participants should have taken Machine Basics. You will be constructing the following projects: on Thursday – a sleep mask, holiday decorations (Halloween & Christmas) and a fleece hat and scarf. Friday: a FUN & FUNKY purse, a small table runner and a tote book bag.

Clubs

Karin is busy as a bee gathering new tips, techniques, new and advanced quilting information, fabrics, and tools for the 2015 Patchwork Party season. Every month Karin will feature several small projects as well a larger lap or full size quilt project. Beginners, intermediate, and advanced quilters are welcome. Show & Tell is shown every month, so please come and share your creations with all of us.

Twelve months of getting to know your machine with monthly projects, tip and ideas. Lecture based class. We will go through the various applications and features of the Janome Memory Craft 15000 and Memory Craft 12000.

Community Service

We gather together on the second Friday of every month to enjoy wonderful fellowship and use our creative talents to sew little dresses for Africa.  The finished products will be shipped all over the world to children in need.  Please join us and do not worry about your skill level, we will put you to work!  We have fabric or you can bring your own.  If questions, please contact Sally Neitzel at  262-637-6761.

For people who love to sew or quilt, it’s so easy to lift spirits and bring smiles to hospitalized kids, homeless families and others in need. Make one, two or more pillowcases. You’ll create just as many smiles.

Quilts for Soldiers is a quilt making workshop to provide quilts for Service Members in V.A. hospitals, and children of Soldiers. We ask that you bring your machine, rulers, thread, and all the usual quilting supplies. If you don't have some of these, we will have these too. Donated fabric is available OR you may bring any fabric selection of your choice. Anyone interested in a contribution of fabric may also do so. Quilting Classes

Start with a large print, add three other fabrics and end with an amazing quilt. In the first class, students will bring or buy their fabrics, learn how to Stack ‘n Whack their pieces, and understand the concepts of sewing Stack ‘n Whack blocks. In the second class, students will learn how to successfully make this quilt top and have enough information to try a few options on their own. Pattern included.

This is a good class for brand new quilters who have NEVER used a rotary cutter or made a quilt block, however, each student MUST be comfortable using their sewing machine. Learn the basics of rotary cutting, and quilt block piecing, plus how to put a simple project together. Students will piece a small table runner or wall hanging in class with some homework.

Come learn four basic binding variations. Students will understand all four, choose one to make and apply, and then decide on the binding of their choice for their next quilt project.

Would you like to do more with your machine decorative stitches? Well now you can! Students will learn how to make flowers, ferns, grasses, leaves and even weeds with these stitches. You will design your very own fantasy garden wall hanging. Knowledge on how to use your stitches is necessary. Come and learn a fun new technique.

Learn the concepts of how to finish any size quilt. This hands-on workshop will show how to layer, quilt and bind with lots of techniques and directions. Students must have a small quilt top ready to be basted. Supply list will give more information. Beginning Quilting students and others are welcome.

This is a good class for any quilter who wants to learn how to choose fabrics, how to accurately piece quilt blocks, and how to decide what to do with these blocks. Students will piece three or four blocks of three different patterns and can use these nine or twelve blocks in a project of their choice.

Begin with four yards of four different fabrics and end up with a beautiful quilt top. Sewing is done at home on your machine! Come to the June class to decide on your fabric choices and begin cutting. Come to the July class to decide what YOUR quilt will look like based on “solving” the mystery with piecing tips and more to ensure that you will finish your quilt top at home!

Want to learn a new technique to make a fast baby or lap quilt? Looks difficult with all the triangles but I will show you an easy way to tackle this block using just squares. This is a fun technique all quilters will want to learn.

An easy cuff-to-toe sock made with fingering/sock-weight or dk/sport-weight yarn. When made with Magic Loop method, you can try the sock on as you go to get a good fitting sock.

Learn the skills to make a ribbed scarf including Tunisian simple stitch (TSS), Tunisian knit stitch (TKS) and Tunisian purl stitch (TPS). Must have basic crochet knowledge.

It will be a 2 day class - The 1st day - Learn to cast on, the knit stitch and the knit bind off. The 2nd day - Learn the purl stitch and the purl bind off. You will just be practicing on small sample pieces in class. You will be given the pattern for the simple scarf that is on display. There will be an explanation of how to knit the scarf in the 2nd class. This class will be limited to 4 Students so don’t hesitate to sign up.
